Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013.....and great food

Hey there!  We took a few days off from writing, but believe me, my husband has been B.U.S.Y. the past few weeks.  I can't wait to show you all of the things we have been working on around here.  But while we finalize those projects, I thought I'd show you what our NYE looked like.  Paisley spent the night with her PaPaw & Gigi, and Charlie and I invited a few of our friends over for the evening.

We decided not to do the whole "dinner" thing and just go with the "everyone bring something to pass" thing.  Those are soooo much easier... don't you agree?

Anyways,  since Pinterest has taken over improved every one's lives and made us all fabulous cooks, we had some amazing appetizers and desserts show up that night!  Here's what made an appearance...

Charlie and I whipped up this AAHHHHMAZING Bacon Jalapeno Dip.  We found the recipe on Melissa's Serving Seconds Blog.  We took the recipe and altered it a bit just to make the prep time quicker!  Check our Melissa's version for the full recipe!

Bacon-Jalapeno Dip

8 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk
2.5 oz pkg of real crumbled bacon
1 teaspoon white wine vinegar
2 thinly sliced jalapenos.....(we used jalapeno pieces in a jar)
1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
1 teaspoon olive oil

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Toss the bread crumbs with the olive oil.

In a separate bowl, mix together everything else and pour into a sprayed baking dish.
Top with your coated breadcrumbs.

Throw it in the oven and bake it for about 30 minutes, or until it's bubbly!

We served our dip with tortilla chips and crackers.

My friend Jessie brought these awesome Sweet Chicken Bacon Wraps which she found through Pinterest, on Jam Hands Blog.  You can find the recipe here.  These were soooo good.  They went quick!

Clare brought a classic Buffalo Chicken Dip.  Clare got the recipe from her sister and they are both pretty cool, so she said I could give you the recipe...

Buffalo Chicken Dip

16 oz. Cream Cheese
1/4 Cup Celery
5 oz. Hot Sauce
2 Cups of Cooked Chicken
1/2 Cup Blue Cheese Dressing
1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Combine cream cheese, celery and hot sauce and microwave for about 3 minutes.

Mix in the cooked chicken, blue cheese, and shredded cheese.

Bake at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes...or...do what Clare did, and throw it all in your crock pot so it will stay warm all night!

Next, we had some Ooey Gooey Butter Cookies that Charlie and I threw together.  Literally.  Threw together.  These have got to be the best tasting, quickest cookies ever.  Try it.  You'll love them.  Best part about them, you can have so much fun choosing your flavor.  For our party, we made Chocolate Fudge and Confetti!  I found the recipe through Pinterest on the Lil' Luna Blog.  You can get the full recipe on her blog here.  And remember, you can use any box cake mix you want!  We made red velvet for Christmas and they were a huge hit.

Brie brought a Taco Dip she found on the Table for 7 Blog.  It's quick and simple...what else do you need?  You can check out the recipe here.

Brie also showed up with a Tiramisu Bowl.  I have never had anything like this before and I plan on making it soon! It's THAT good...

Her fiance's aunt passed this recipe on to Brie and we convinced her to share it with us too...

Tiramisu Bowl

1 pkg. 8oz. cream cheese, softened
3 cups cold milk
2 pkgs. (4 serving size each) vanilla flavor instant pudding & pie filling
1 tub (8oz) cool whip whipped topping, thawed
48 vanilla wafers
1/2 cup brewed strong coffee, cooled
2 squares of semi-sweet chocolate, grated

Beat cream cheese in a large bowl bowl with electric mixer until creamy.  Gradually beat in milk.  Add dry pudding mixes; mix well.  Stir in 2 cups of the whipped topping.  Line bottom and sides of a 2 1/2 qt. bowl with half of the wafers; drizzle with half of the coffee.  Layer half of the pudding mixture over wafers, and then top with half of the grated chocolate.  Repeat all layers starting with the wafers and coffee.  Top with remaining whipped topping.  Refrigerate at least two hours.

Our NYE table of food was kinda amazing. Make sure you pin these for later!

Our 2012 was pretty spectacular.  The highlight was turning our little family of two into a beautiful family of three.  Miss Paisley has made 2012 very memorable for us and we can't wait to see what 2013 has in store for our family and this little ol' blog.  We're just gettin' started...so, stay tuned...
